Have you ever struggled with what to wear to a bridal shower? Especially one during the Fall when it’s cool and rainy out? This was my struggle last week. I’ve never been to a bridal shower before so I didn’t really know what to expect in terms of attire. It didn’t help that as the week went on the forecast for Saturday kept changing. I was looking at mid-high 50 degree weather, wind, and rain. Luckily, the weather turned around and it was sunny on the day of the bridal shower.
Originally I was planning on making something in my closet work, but last minute I decided to pop into Forever21. I haven’t shopped at Forever21 since college so I was quite surprised that I fell in love with this Striped Surplice Maxi Dress (size small). It’s a woven maxi dress featuring an allover striped pattern, a surplice neckline, long buttoned-cuff sleeves, shirred elastic waistband and shoulders, slit front, partial skirt lining, and a removable self-tie waist belt. It’s not only super cute and perfect for a Fall bridal shower, but it is also under $30! What a steal!
Even though it’s no longer sandal weather, I thought this dress looked best with my Sydney Beige Suede High Heel Sandals. These are a 4.5″ block heel, but very comfortable. They have never given me blisters and I find them easy to stand in for hours at a time. No complaints here!
With a surplice neckline, my Sophie Harper Layered Disc Choker necklace from my latest Rocksbox was the perfect touch to complete this outfit. Don’t forget, you can try your first month of Rocksbox free if you use the code “kelleygbff11” at checkout.
