Have you ever tried gel glue on nails? I decided to give it a try and see how long they really do last. I went to CVS and picked up a pair of KISS Gel Fantasy Nails. I saw a bunch of bloggers use these on Instagram during the earlier stages of quarantine so I figured I’d give it a go.
What comes in the box
These KISS nail kits come with a mini nail file, a wooden cuticle stick to push back your cuticles, glue, glue stickers (to use in place of the glue), and 28 nails so you can match the right sizes to your nails. Since some bloggers recommended getting an extra thing of glue, I picked up the KISS Precision Nail Glue.
The Process
I started by cleaning my nails to make sure I had no remains of polish from my last manicure. From there I used cuticle oil and pushed back my cuticles with the wooden stick. Once my nails were fully prepped, I started to match the correct nail sizes to each nail. I ended up using all of the smallest size nails. A few were slightly big, but I made them work.
Like I mentioned earlier, I decided to use the Precision Glue instead of the glue that came in the kit. This glue was SUPER sticky so be careful using it. I immediately applied the fake nail to my real nail once I put glue on both. The glue dries pretty fast, so it will be difficult to move the nail if you don’t get it placed in the right spot on your first try.
Final Result
Overall, I am very pleased with how they turned out and they lasted longer than I anticipated. They are guaranteed to last 7 days and my left hand stayed fully in tack. But between cleaning and day-to-day activities, I did lose 4 out of the 5 nails on my right hand. Luckily I didn’t lose any of the nails when they fell off so I was easily able to re-glue them. When I was ready for them to all come off I was able to remove themwith a little help from nail polish remover.
Even though I did lose a nail here and there, I probably will still use these types of nails again. It was a much quicker process to put them on than if I painted my own nails. I also received tons of compliments that it looked like I had my nails done (which is way better than if I attempted to paint them myself).
Would you give glue on nails a try?
Sincerely,
K
