Welcome to my second book review blog post! One of my 2021 goals is to get back into reading. I really love reading, but finding the time during my busy day to pick up a book can be hard. To help solve this problem, I’ve started developing a new morning routine. I try to wake up 30-60 minutes earlier than I normally would. I make a fresh cup of coffee and spend some time reading each morning before signing on to work.
So far I’ve only finished 2 books in 2021, but I’m hoping to pick up the pace! I just added a BUNCH of new books to my collection and I’m pumped to dive into each one.
If you missed the first book review blog post, you can view it here. You can also view my Goodreads list. I rate every book I’ve read on Goodreads. You’ll notice I predominantly read thrillers, but I do have other genres on the list. I’m thinking the next book review post I’ll review a new genre, but for this post I want to share some more great thrillers!

WHISPERS BY LISA JACKSON
This book takes place in a small Oregon town, where you meet Dutch Holland. He summons his 3 daughters, Miranda, Claire, and Tessa, to come home so he can announce he will be running for governor. But before he does, he needs to make sure of one thing. That none of his daughters were involved with the death of his rival’s son, Harley Taggert, 16 years ago. Little did he know, Kane Morgan is back in town to write a book about Harley’s death. Through a series of swirling rumors and a new body uncovered, the truth about what happened to Harley emerges and who was involved.

YOU CAN TRUST ME BY SOPHIE MCKENZIE
Livy was supposed to meet up with Julia for a lunch date. But to her dismay, she arrives at Julia’s place to find her best friend dead. Her death is ruled a suicide, but something nags at Livy that this is not a suicide, but a murder. Even though there is no evidence pointing to Julia’s death being a murder, Livy throws herself into her own investigation. Along the way she begins to suspect that whoever murdered Julia, may have been the one who murdered Livy’s sister, Kara, 18 years earlier. As Livy digs deeper into her theory, she believes the murderer is someone close to her family and she can’t trust anyone she knows until the killer is caught.

WOMAN IN CABIN 10 BY RUTH WARE
Lo Blacklock, a travel journalist, gets to spend a week on an exclusive luxury cruise for a work assignment. This cruise takes place on the Aurora with plush cabins and fancy dinner parties. Lo’s relaxing week takes a turn for the worse when she is convinced she witnessed a woman’s body being thrown overboard. To her shocking surprise, everyone aboard seems to be accounted for. So then who was the woman thrown overboard? You’ll have to follow along on Lo’s journey as she tries to uncover the truth.

COUPLE NEXT DOOR BY SHARI LAPENA
One of those books you will never see the ending coming. Meet Marco, Anne, and their beautiful baby, Cora. The book starts out with Marco and Anne leaving sleeping Cora in her crib while they spend an evening at their neighbors. They were doing hourly checks to make sure Cora was okay, but their world was turned upside down when Cora goes missing. Through a series of secrets, twists, and turns, you will never expect who kidnapped Cora, why she was kidnapped, and who ends up losing their life in the end.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS BY B.A. PARIS
“Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie” would be the perfect tag line for this book. This is a story about a good looking man named Jack and his charming wife, Grace. From an outsider’s perspective, they are the picture perfect couple – good looking, wealthy, and seemingly madly in love. But it does seem weird to friends that they can never seem to meet up with Grace alone for coffee or give her a call on her cell phone (since she doesn’t have one). As you read deeper into this book you learn the real reason why Grace cooks such elaborate meals, yet stays so slim and why the couple has bars on their bedroom windows.
What are some of your favorite thrillers? Share below!

The Couple Next Door has been on my list to read! I need to check these all out and start reading!!
Wasn’t that so good? I certainly did not see the ending coming!
I’m SO glad you posted this because I’m in the market for some new books! I love to read!
Yay! I’m glad I can help! There are so many books out there sometimes it’s hard to sift through to find the good ones so I rely a lot on word of mouth recommendations.
I haven’t read anything yet this year (oops). And I’m far from a morning person so not sure your new routine would work but I might have to give it a try.
It took a bit of time to establish my new routine, but after a couple of weeks it became easier and easier waking up early to read.
They all sound great! Number 3 intrigues me the most- it reminds me of Agatha Christie’s 4:50 From Paddington. Have you read it?
Oh I have not, but I’m adding it to my list ASAP!
I’ve read a couple of these but need to check out the others! Love a good thriller!
Which one has been your favorite that you’ve read from this list?
These all sound so good!!!!
