Reasons Why Engagement Pictures are Important for Every Engaged Couple

Guess what? We’re almost in the 100 day countdown until my big day! With that in mind I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from our recent engagement session in Fort Fischer, NC. You may recall from my Engagement Story that Joe hired a photographer to capture our special moment. I will treasure those engagement pictures forever, but we also had another opportunity for pictures. The package we booked with our wedding photographer, Chelsea Allegra Photography, includes a complimentary engagement session, so we took advantage of it! After getting our pictures back, I wanted to share why I think all couples should consider getting engagement pictures.

Reason 1: Memories

Since an engagement is such a short moment in one’s relationship these engagement pictures will help capture this special time. It can be way too easy to get lost in the stress and hype of planning a wedding. Especially if you’re planning a wedding in the midst of a pandemic! Whether they are a surprise when he gets down on one knee or a post-engagement shoot, you will have beautiful pictures of the two of you to admire forever. Plus these shoots are a ton of fun!

Reason 2: Prep for the big day

You may not get the opportunity to meet you wedding photographer in person prior to hiring him/her. Shooting an engagement session with your photographer will give you the chance to meet in person, get a sense for how they shoot, and help you get comfortable in front of the camera. This also helps the photographer because they get a chance to see how you and your fiancé interact with each other.

Reason 3: Guestbook

For us, part of the package we chose for our wedding also includes the option to have a guestbook album filled with our pictures. This gives the guests something to flip through as they write the couple well wishes on their big day.

We received over 100 incredible pictures, so it was VERY difficult to narrow down to just 10 pictures. But here are some of my favorites!
